I manage a local Minecraft Bedrock server for just us at the moment. We play across various devices such as iPod, iPad, Xbox, and PC. There’s no issue with auto-discovery when the client and server share the same VLAN (appears under the friend’s tab). But when I move the server to a different VLAN, I can’t automatically find it in Minecraft’s friends list using the discovery tool. I’m able to join the world manually if I provide the IP or DNS name, indicating my firewall isn’t blocking access. It might relate to network routing, UDP retransmission, or the fact that I’m using pfSense as my router. My relevant VLANs are: Servers (where I want to host), Trusted (where we connect via Wi-Fi).
