Now that the Battlefront Beta is set to launch in about 17 hours, many have likely never played a Battlefront title before. After the beta, I highly suggest (if you own a PS2 or an Xbox/Xbox 360) trying Star Wars: Battlefront or, if you're on PC, Star Wars Battlefront 2. Even though the visuals aren't the latest, they were enjoyable when I played them as a child. http://store.steampowered.com/app/6060/
I wasn't planning to say that, but I'm encouraging folks to give them a shot.
I used to play it often as a child. Recently Steam ran their Star-Wars sale, which sparked a nostalgic journey for me. Running the game at 1080p was one of the most enjoyable moments I've experienced. Note: now someone should create a texture mod to recreate that feeling.
I enjoy the historic battlefields, but they might pose challenges for the upcoming ones since some new or changed mechanics seem uncertain to me. If it turns out similar to SimCity or the latest Need for Speed titles, EA could face more criticism from me. Battlefront 2 is one of my top picks, the only issue I had was missing Bespin maps and the original Dune sea, though I think the game offered better balance and polish overall.
Yeah, I played it on PS2 with my older brother Such times Then when i got it through steam years later i modded the crap out of it
Bespin stood out among the maps, and I often thought I'd love to control the Tusken Raiders in Dune Sea.
I relied on the originals, collected amazing medals everywhere, and my KTD was 11/1 at one time. Between this game and Halo 1 and 2, plus Morrowind, I’ve spent hundreds of hours in those titles. I’m really excited for Battlefield, even though it’ll be totally different.
