I haven't experienced these titles on consoles, so I'm unsure about the latest updates in the Master Chief Collection versions. When I tried playing Halo CE on the MCC, the remastered graphics seemed quite poor and disrupted the unique atmosphere of the original visuals. At the same time, the original graphics were too basic to be enjoyable. Thus, it seems there isn't a satisfactory choice for Halo CE's graphics in the MCC. Are Halo: Reach and Halo CE on the MCC visually identical to their previous console re-releases? Not the initial versions, but the remastered editions released years ago. Recently, I came across a video for Halo 2 on the MCC, and it appears significantly different from older console games—it looks like a completely new project. Have these remastered visuals been around for a long time on consoles, or are they entirely fresh for Halo 2 in the MCC? If they're fresh, I wonder why such an effort wasn't applied to Halo CE. That game would also benefit from it.

This version incorporates graphical issues added by Gearbox for the 2003 PC release when using the original visuals. It functions due to its foundation in that earlier release, which supports online play.

I have verified directly that Halo: Reach matches its original Xbox 360 version when released on Steam at MCC.

The graphics in the Halo 2 MCC edition are not entirely new to the MCC collection; they build upon existing assets while offering updated visuals.

Halo Anniversary launched on the 360 console to celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2011. It relied heavily on the Gearbox port, which has consistently delivered subpar results, resulting in several glitches such as malfunctioning Jackal shields and dropships. For an authentic Halo CE experience, opting for Custom Edition and a well-regarded mod is recommended to address these issues. The 343 version doesn’t seem capable of fully resolving the problems. Halo 2 received similar treatment but was released on Xbone, giving it a more recent appearance. It appears there wasn’t a dedicated standalone release for Halo 2A like CE; instead, it was bundled with MCC. I have limited knowledge about its quality. The remaining titles were essentially ported from the 360 to newer platforms. The PC version of MCC simply ported Xbox games to PC, which is quite straightforward. It’s clear what the MCC setup looks like on Xbox, yet some believe the PC release will be a complete rework of all six titles rather than just a port.

You're enjoying Halo Custom Edition, Cartographer, and the original Xbox. The PC MCC doesn't seem to be worth it for you.

It costs $40 for six games... four of them never ran on PC. I don’t really like the anniversary visuals in Halo 1 and 2, so I think CE and Cartographer are better for the campaign. The online service seems pretty poor.

MCC includes Halo reach. To obtain Halo 2 you need to purchase a $10 DLC. That’s the reason I’m hesitant about it.

The games are available individually or as a bundle. The total cost for six is $40, but purchasing them one by one would be around $10 each.

It's still a port from Xbox to PC. The MCC contains all the titles. Halo 4 appears to be a recent addition, likely not present at launch. ODST seems to have come later, but it was always Reach, H:A, H2:A, and H3. It would be foolish to exclude the Master Chief games from the "Master Chief Collection" or even offer a collection without them.
