A few months back I faced RAM problems, after fixing them I encountered Discord issues. Joining a VC required a VPN, which wasn’t working. I searched online but found nothing helpful. It seems the issue might be with my modem when using the phone’s hotspot. Any ideas or solutions?

Location could be useful. Many countries restrict Discord, so a VPN might be necessary. But if the phone connects smoothly, it seems like it isn’t blocked. You also mentioned a modem—does it act as a modem or a router? Routers let you configure ports for specific apps; if it’s a modem, they’re likely using your phone line and may have hidden restrictions you’re not aware of. Without details about your system, hardware, and modem specs, it’s hard to pinpoint the problem.

It appears the issue might relate to DNS configuration. Consider clearing your DNS cache or switching to an alternative server like 1.1.1.1.

You might also just disconnect the device from its power source, let it sit for a couple of minutes, and then reconnect the power. This can resolve problems where the cache got corrupted over time. I used a cable modem a while back, and that was a typical issue at that time.
