Curious about removing the top part of an AMD FX 6100? You might want to carefully detach the pins and consider crafting a keychain from the internal components. Just keep in mind it’s already damaged—CPU pins plus conductive thermal paste can cause further failure.

Not much inside except a die, and it would be a bit ugly but otherwise, razor blade or just a vise, since it's broken anyway

Fx needs to be heated with a heat gun; otherwise the die will break. I’ve seen this done on several deli projects. There are many capacitors on Fx, which makes it stand out from other CPUs. Also, handle your razor blade carefully—it’ll cut them off easily.

I enjoy the vintage Athlon XP chips. Already disassembled from the box, they look great as keychains.
