I noticed a remark on a Tek Syndicate video about VPN users needing to turn off webRTC in Windows browsers—otherwise their real IP address might show up. The comment suggests checking your IP by searching online, which is the only way I know of. It seems they’re warning that enabling webRTC could expose your actual location. This makes sense since browsers often reveal more data when certain features are active.

I tried looking into this and found a Chrome extension called "scriptsafe" that claims to block webRTC, but others say it creates popups and isn’t reliable. Another link mentioned a similar tool, though many users report it doesn’t work well. I’m not sure what’s best, but double-checking with trusted sources might help clarify things.

You can check STUN servers to view your actual IP through a VPN. Avoid relying on Chrome; the browser or its extensions don’t let you disable WebRTC, leading to this problem.

This problem is limited to the Chrome browser. Using Firefox should work. For services like popcorntime, it might not display correctly depending on your ISP.

Firefox displays several settings under "about:config" that you can disable, including loop.loop.enabledmedia.peerconnection.enabled. Setting these to false may remove webRTC capabilities.
