I set up Garuda Linux (Gnome with Arch) on my strong machine (core i5-9400F, Nvidia rtx 2060, 16GB DDR4 RAM), use a 144Hz monitor, and everything runs smoothly. However, when I launched Minecraft, the refresh rate fell to 60Hz. I experienced this before on Windows—simply disabling VSync fixed it. But in Gnome I’m not sure how to adjust it. After a short while, I discovered turning off my second screen (which runs at 60Hz) resolved the issue, allowing all windows to operate smoothly and Minecraft to run well. Could it be that VSync affects the balance of refresh rates on this system?
