Disable microphone sensitivity settings in Windows.
Disable microphone sensitivity settings in Windows.
In short... I’m stuck with no other options since the internet offers only half-baked fixes like disabling exclusive control. Here’s how I try to tackle it: How can I keep any app from altering the mic sensitivity on my t.Bone SC 440 USB? My aim is to stop programs such as WhatsApp, Steam, Google Meet and others from adjusting the sound level back to normal. To go further, why do these apps have the ability to change this setting by default? And why isn’t there a straightforward permission-based way to block them? Should I explore registry changes? With Windows 10 and a Ryzen 3700x, the mic drivers are set up by default, but the Realtek audio driver is installed. I’ve disabled “allow applications to take exclusive control” and switched the communications tab to “do nothing.” Regarding your question about sensitivity: yes, I’ve already instructed Steam not to interfere. I also added a questionable browser extension to prevent Google Meet from affecting it. But WhatsApp Desktop seems to lack any controls for this issue, which is frustrating.
You shared the right part correctly. It looks like no one is aware of this. Consider submitting a feature request to WhatsApp or Meta. You might also test the early beta of the new WhatsApp app here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/app/9N...verviewtab
