Jankerson should lower the voltage pumpage on the gigabyte mobo, as it causes the CPU to overheat during OC. The default was 1.3v, but I changed it to 1.2v without changing the temperature. Check if you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard and update it if needed. After updating, reset to optimized defaults and avoid adjusting the voltage. The new BIOS should handle voltage better automatically. I didn’t want to change the voltage but couldn’t find a direct option, and some tech advice suggested reducing heat instead. Now I’m a bit confused about whether I applied enough thermal paste.

You need to verify temperature using AIDA64 Extreme or Prime95, testing for 10-15 minutes. I understand that reducing voltage can slightly improve your results. My setup uses a Cryorig H7 with 7700K and it works well even at default settings. Prime95 should reach up to 86°C.

You need to lower the voltage pumpage on your gigabyte mobo—it causes the CPU to overheat during OC.
The default was 1.3v, I changed it to 1.2v but the temperature remains the same.
Do you have the newest BIOS for your motherboard?
If not, update it.
After that, reset it to the optimized defaults.
Avoid changing the voltage.
The latest BIOS includes improved voltage regulation and should handle it properly.
I didn’t want to adjust the voltage but couldn’t find a better option; many tech people suggest reducing the temperature anyway.
I’ll update the BIOS now and see if it helps.
Currently, I’m a bit confused because I think I applied the right amount of thermal paste, but all these factors are affecting my thoughts.
Meh...
Don’t change the voltage when running at stock—it’s not necessary.
For temperatures, just use a decent cooler; the BIOS update should fix the issue.
This cooler is more budget-friendly, so don’t expect much improvement.
A better one would make a noticeable difference.
