I own both Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro versions, both automatically install Windows Update and allow scheduled restarts as desired. Windows Pro offers extra configurations similar to those in Windows 7, and these adjustments are managed through group policy.

I haven’t run it in a real environment yet, but I created f***updates.bat which detects and halts the update service when it finds something matching “windows update” in its caption. To make it work, it needs admin privileges.

Advanced settings for Windows Update include a menu with "Notify to schedule restart" among other choices... Have you explored this feature?
