I had no problems with DX12 until roughly three or four months back. After that, whenever I launch a game using DX12, I notice FPS drops and severe lag. This issue affects all DX12 titles—Fortnite, Necromunda, Black Ops Cold War, even Warframe in DirectX12 mode. Anyone have any suggestions? I’m not sure what to do. While searching, I found a known Control fix: disable the Control Flow guard. It didn’t help, but it worked for games that also run on DirectX11. For those curious about the details, my system specs are: Ryzen 7 5800X, RTX 2080 Super, 32 GB RAM at 3600MHz, Corsair Vengeance Pro.

DX12 is actually hidden as Microsoft's most significant misstep… https://www.dsogaming.com/editorial/the-...its-steam/ Yes, it may offer improved performance in theory, but developers generally dislike it and it’s often poorly optimized. It brings back memories of the "power of the CELL" concept, which was also true in theory and nearly ended one of the world's largest electronics manufacturers. Still, it seems to have worked well before—possibly due to a Windows update, driver issues, or corruption.
