I’m dealing with the Ryzen 5950X RTX 3090 while running Path of Exile and Halo Infinite on DX12. Both games are stable for now but tend to freeze after a short time. For a few seconds after freezing, I can still use other monitors and interact with my system before it becomes unresponsive. It feels like the issue is tied to the GPU—there’s no BSOD and basic functions work. I’m currently installing a fresh DDU driver and checking Nvidia Drivers 516.94 for DirectX12 compatibility. I’ll also run memtest86 tonight just in case, since I’ve had a previous dimming die replacement. So far, no clear fix has been found, and I’m still looking for a solution. Thanks for your help.

Use HCI memtest or similar checks like tm5, p95 large ffts, etc. For troubleshooting, try reducing GPU core and memory clock speeds to determine if instability comes from the GPU or software/hardware issues.

I believe the situation is now under control. Examining Windows' 'Event Viewer' after the crash revealed numerous alerts. Each one mentioned something similar about... "The application-specific permission settings do not allow Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID" followed by a registry entry. I then searched those registry values and adjusted their access rights to full permissions. After that, I accessed 'Component Services' which indicated a program wasn't being logged or tracked, so I allowed it to continue. Since then, I haven't encountered a crash during the longest play session, which lasted up to four hours. Typically, crashes occur before three hours. I still see those warnings in the Event Viewer, but no crashes have followed.
