DirectX 12
DirectX 12
Hello, I've been hearing a lot about DirectX 12. Some say it's only available in Windows 10 and certain GPUs. My setup uses Windows 10, GTX 960, and AMD FX6300. I'm unsure how to turn it on since I'm not sure what the steps are. Can you help me figure out how to enable it? Thanks!
They need to be created for it. It can't just be turned on. The games must be designed around it, and currently there aren't any that support DX12.
Your 960 works with DX12, so everything runs smoothly—no extra settings needed. Most titles require DX12 support to function properly, and currently only a handful are compatible. To verify your current DX12 version, type "dxdiag" in the console and check the Direct X details.
DirectX12 is exclusive to Windows 10, and your GPU can handle it. It’s not something you turn on; the game must be designed for DX12. Right now, only a few titles support it and haven’t been released yet. Still, it’s worth looking forward to—the performance improvements are impressive.
