DIMM.2 Slot 2x 980 Pro 2TB raid 0 setup for Asus ROG Zenith Extreme II Alpha
Hello everyone, I'm working on setting up the DIMM.2 port with two 980 Pro 2TB Raid 0 drives on the Asus ROG Zenith Extreme II Alpha. I searched online but didn't find clear instructions. I already have another pair configured as RAID 0 internally, but I need a second set for this slot that came with the Asus MB. I'm looking for any tips or guidance.
is there a point in this? Since most programs still dont even utilize the speeds
For 6K video editing, ensure your software supports high-resolution workflows and optimize file formats accordingly.
I haven’t done this recently, but follow the Advanced section – SATA Configuration. Choose SATA Mode, avoid setting it to RAID. Stick with AHCI in the AMD PBS area at the bottom of the page. Enable NVMe RAID Mode now. You’ll see the RAIDXpert Raid Configuration option at the end of the tab under AMD PBS settings. Wipe out any non-RAID volume if present, then create a fresh one.
Sure, thank you. It should not impact your existing Windows setup. You can configure a new RAID 0 on the DIMM2 slot without issues.
It actually showed a warning when I tried to switch back to AHCI in SATA mode—said I’d lose data. I stopped, since I didn’t want to risk losing the pre-installed RAID setup. What do you think?
