Hello, I’m preparing to fully format your second-hand Dell G7 laptop. I need to remove all partitions and worry mainly about my Windows 10 license. A friend suggested that after reformatting, you can delete everything except the System Reserved partition, which keeps the activation key for your OS. Is this accurate? What happens if you do this? Could the Windows 10 license be affected? I’ve heard that linking your Microsoft account might help keep the license tied to your personal account instead of using an MS account. I’m also aware that deleting all partitions will erase the factory image and support files. I’ve attached screenshots of the activation settings and partition layout. Any advice would be appreciated.

The important information is kept in the BIOS. It's not on the hard drive, so make sure you download this tool and save your key here: https://www.lazesoft.com/lazesoft-window...inder.html

Link your Microsoft account and it will confirm activation. Once done, you can reinstall Windows and keep using the same account. Choose Windows 10 Home Single Language for best results; otherwise it may not function properly.

Hi Wolly9102, I've also explored this option. Thanks for your reply. Hi _Syn_, I checked the same idea but prefer another approach since I don't want to use an MS account on my laptop. Thanks again!
