I've been searching for two motherboards: the Z87-Z97 series and a Z77. The CPUs are on my desk, but it's tough to locate boards at fair prices. Uncertain about relying on eBay—though I've had success there before. Prices are steep, shipping is expensive, and I'm avoiding wish or AliExpress. If anyone has functional boards, I'd be open to purchasing them. Or if you can assist in finding the right ones, that would be great.

Boards last a long time. My MSI z87-gd65 has performed well. Should I check Kijiji or Craigslist?

The issue isn't about locating them, but about their high cost and your decision not to buy from the usual retailers.

They're actually outdated, the x6x chipset boards such as H61 are deteriorating because of their age

From what I've seen, motherboards and graphics cards tend to be the most prone to failure. This is logical because they share many similar parts and vulnerabilities.

I’m open to purchasing from eBay. I just wish to locate items nearer to home. I own two mobile phones from a seller I’ve interacted with before.

It's understandable to feel hesitant about relying on fleabay, yet it seems to be a solid option for finding items. Pay attention to the seller’s rating and their membership duration. A strong reputation combined with consistent membership often adds value. Online purchases always carry some risk, but when you spot a good offer, it can pay off. If you see a listing from someone new or recently joined, proceed with caution. I’ve bought a few boards marked as defective before, but most were either repairable or still functional. One board I recently got was supposed to be dead, yet it worked perfectly—so long as you check the details carefully. Some issues can be fixed, while others aren’t. I’ve repaired a couple myself and found good deals. For Z77 boards, they’re usually easy to locate if you know what to look for. Just be selective and verify the condition before buying. It’s all about being discerning.

H61 is still 9, and it's been ten years now. That sounds like a good amount of time. Just get it new whenever you can.

They gradually deteriorate, often more quickly than CPUs.
