I'm starting a full-stack project that needs MacOSx. Should I just dualboot Ubuntu with my Windows laptop, or do I really need a MacOS machine—maybe through hackintoshifting or using a slower dual-core Macbook? Also, Docker seems to run better on MacOS than Windows and natively on Linux, so I'm planning to go with Ubuntu.

MAC is built on Linux, so you should be able to handle it.

Yes, it's likely because you require an OSX-only program.

It's not a Linux distribution that's significantly different... I only heard from a few folks that macOS is built on Linux but isn't a complete Linux system at all.

Well, the sources you heard from aren't correct. Don't take everything at face value or rely solely on online articles. I've come across numerous blogs and Quora responses that contain clear inaccuracies.

It heavily relies on the languages in use if it's a mean or MEV stack; the choice shouldn't affect you whether you're on macOS or Windows. If you're using macOS, consider apps that suit your needs and avoid Windows for backend development since deploying the backend might be better on Linux.

Absolutely, no problem. Just wanted to let you know about your friend. I'm not familiar with MAC, right? 😄
