I took apart my MSCAT Katana G76 12ug to remove dust, and here’s what I noticed. Is it typical for bare silicon to remain uncooled? Also, did the seal break during assembly, making it look like someone had opened it earlier?

The die that isn't cooled is made from distinct silicon pieces joined together, unlike the larger unit.

The alternative die is likely the PCH. Keep it as is; applying TIM will raise its temperature due to CPU heat.
