Did your computer stop working unexpectedly during a game?
My PC stopped working suddenly while I was playing CS2.
I don’t understand what caused it.
MBD: ASUS H11DM-D
CPU: i5-7400
GPU: GTX 1660 Ti OC 6GB
PSU: Superflower Legion GX Pro 90+ Gold 650 watts
After removing all components except the PSU and CPU (the PSU is outside), I tried turning it on to check if the PSU was functioning. It worked, but it only spun for a second before stopping completely, including the CPU fan. The motherboard also lit up, which happened after I unplugged the case fans. My assumption was that the PSU gave up, but I’m not sure.
I don’t have any speakers on my motherboard or any lights to signal an issue.
Sorry for my English. Thank you to whoever answers.
Are all power cables still present? Check the wall outlet connection, as well as the PSU and wall socket sides. Consider a minimal setup. Ensure the RAM is in the right slot, CPU has cooler and fan, monitor is connected to the motherboard, PSU is reset using a jumper, and try a different PSU or switch it to another system.
Thank you for your message.
I don’t have any spare MB and psu left because of a recent storm flooding my house.
I attempted to move it to another wall outlet, but it still spins the fans briefly and the motherboard lights come on before turning off.
I’m not sure what you meant by jumper, so I’ll try reseating my CMOS battery if that’s what you were referring to. Did that help?
I completed the paper clip process and my PSU fan spins. Does this suggest my motherboard is the issue? Did it stop all my components linked to the motherboard? Or is the PSU fan spinning but still indicates a problem? Thanks for the many questions here. I also heard a quiet zzzzzzz noise from the PSU when I turned it on or plugged it in.
NEW PROBLEM:
THE COMPUTER TURNS ON BUT SHOWS NO OUTPUT, ONLY A BLACK SCREEN. THE MOUSE AND KEYBOARD LIGHTS ARE OFF. MY PC ALSO FAILS TO START EVEN WHEN THE GPU IS INSTALLED. THE PSU DOES NOT TURN ON IF IT'S INSTALLED, BUT WORKS WITHOUT ONE. CAN YOU HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON? AM I DEALING WITH A FAULTY PSU OR SOMETHING ELSE? THANK YOU!
