I have a family member with a Dell XPS 13 who experienced a fan error. They ordered a replacement and I disassembled the laptop to discover the fan was incorrect for their model (it should have been for 9370-80, but it was for 7390). I cleaned the dust from the fan and vents using a brush, then checked Core Temp—CPU temperature was around 60°C at idle. I ran Cinebench and stress tests; temperatures stayed between 60-65°C with no errors. They live nearby, about four hours away, and I’m leaving soon so I won’t have much time here.

After cleaning the fans, it would be wise to swap out the thermal paste and consider using better-quality pads.

That's not a bad idea.
