I understand you're unsure about your PC upgrade decision. Let me break down your thoughts: you're weighing the Ryzen 7 2700X against the Ryzen 5 3600. The 2700X offers more cores and threads, which could help with multitasking and running updates smoothly, while the 3600 is more budget-friendly but might struggle with heavy workloads. Since you enjoy gaming and stress tests, the extra performance of the 2700X seems appealing. For streaming, the 2700X might provide better results. Consider your specific needs before deciding.

It's perfectly fine with your decision, especially since the R7 2700x offered a better price, a solid purchase!

Only a 1060 offers no noticeable change, but with 5700XT/2070S at 1080p you might experience a slight improvement.

I suggest 2700x based on these points: - lower cost around $20 less locally. - very refined selection → from Zen+ CPU, these were carefully chosen to keep top speeds, unlike the 3600 which sits at the bottom of the Zen2 line. - you receive a cooler that can be resold for about $20, and it fits smaller CPUs well. - finally: with a mid-range graphics card, especially at 1440p or higher settings, the second-gen Ryzen performs just fine. Check this benchmark: https://www.techspot.com/review/1968-ryz...g-scaling/ 2700x delivers better FPS than 2600, and even that is a decent pick for mid-range GPUs. Right now it's a solid option.

The minor variation is quickly overcome by a gentle performance boost on your 2700x. I consistently surpass the R5 3600 on test stands using my R7 1700 with strong overclocking.

You chose wisely. The 2700X performs well and outperforms the 3600 based on your workload.

You recently purchased a 2700 with a 3600, and it seems like a smarter choice overall.

I purchased my 2700 a few months prior to Zen 2's release, and I managed to get it at a reasonable price back then. I’m not sure if I made any mistakes—I’m satisfied with the choice.

The figures I've noticed suggest that 2700x and 3600 generally behave similarly overall. There may be instances where one outperforms the other slightly, but these differences aren't significant enough to cause major concern or buyer hesitation.
