My take is the same, and it seems like this block has been through the same problems as before. I start to think it might be outdated or even obsolete.
Create your own setup. Use automotive wet sanding paper. A thicker mirror works better. Secure the paper to the mirror firmly and evenly. Begin with 600 grit, then move to 1500–2000 grit for finishing. You can increase the grit if desired. The Figure 8 motion is ideal. There are likely some YouTube videos you could look into as well.
I'm getting more sure that my monoblock is the problem, since I noticed my temperatures on the old 8700k weren't as good as they should be with this block. It seems like the issue has been there from the start. Now that it's out of warranty, I've had the block opened, so I'm either fixing it or switching to a generic CPU waterblock and relying on air cooling for the VRMs.
