My Zephyrus G15 (2022) has a new SSD: Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 512GB NVMe PCIe 3.0. Since my laptop only has 512GB of space, I decided to use the second slot and bought this hard drive so that money wouldn't be wasted because buying another one is expensive. After installing it, everything worked at first and the computer started up fine. But after a few weeks, something strange happened every time the PC went to sleep for hours or when I shut it down and turned it back on. The SSD would suddenly just disappear from the system until I restarted it, but that didn't help because if I did restart, it was gone again right away. I tried leaving it alone all day and even checked over at the BIOS settings where no one else could see it either when I opened up the laptop to reinstall the drive. I tried this many times, but nothing worked.

If your Adata drive won't stick and nothing else works, it might just be broken. Check Reliability History and Event Viewer to see if either tool is catching some errors or messages about the drive disappearing and coming back again. Click on each one for more info, but you might not get a clear answer there. It could be something running in the background that gets triggered by Task Scheduler. Just look at Task Manager and Task Scheduler instead.

Firstly, I tried to use it on my old laptop that has one nvme slot but never had a chance since i am busy with other things. Then i checked using Reliability History and Event Viewer but did not find any error code or warning or even informational events about it and it was kind of expected because the drive never disappeared when the Laptop was on as it only disappeared after a shutdown (not a restart). As for the issue of something in the background or triggered by task scheduler while i havent checked that, i dont think it caused by them either again because again it only disappeared after a shutdown even if i just turned it on for a moment then shut it down it would disappear for another day or 2 Also trying to find the cause of the problem have become even more harder because it barely appeared anymore even if i left it for 2-3 days. Note: Thx for correcting, english is not my first language

I had the same problem as you, but it happened on my SS 980 Pro with a 2TB drive and the model number GU603ZW. Here is how my computer looks: The motherboard is a GU603ZW running Windows 10 or 11 update. I have Intel VMD turned on or off (it didn't make any difference to this issue). There are two SSDs here, one in the first slot and another in the second slot.

The problem happens like this: sometimes when my computer is running Windows, the second SSD seems to disappear from my list of drives, but if I check it in the BIOS, it still shows up there normally. To fix this for now, I changed the SMART settings inside the BIOS so that they are set to On (or on the other side to Off). When I tried turning them back down to Off after the problem went away again, it worked.

I sent a report to ASUS Vietnam, and you know what happened? They only check things when using original SSDs from ASUS. If an SSD is not from ASUS, they say there are no problems! I am really upset about that. Do I have to call them every single time I buy a new SSD?
