Hi.
My bedroom PC is from Lenovo. It started with Windows 8 but was quickly upgraded to version 10. Clearly, it’s not brand new, yet it’s functioning very well.
Issue: There was a power outage at home this morning while I was away at work. Once the power came back, the fans are spinning much louder and my Samsung C24F390FHN monitor isn’t displaying any video signal. However, both HDMI and Analogue cables seem to be working, because the monitor warns that either cable is disconnected.
I’m unsure how to troubleshoot now since I can’t see what’s happening on the screen.
No, I don’t have a sound to follow. Before I call for assistance, I’d like to find a solution from you all. I’ve built and repaired many computers, so I’m hoping you can help me out. Any suggestions?

Have you attempted: Taking out the power cord and battery from the laptop, keeping the power button pressed for thirty seconds, swapping the battery and cord, plugging it back in, and trying to restart?

It seems you're asking about compatibility between a laptop and a PC setup.

Thank you
@Fix_that_Glitch
I attempted your instructions on my PC… and after unplugging the power cord and holding the power button for 30 seconds while watching a clock, I was able to see the monitor screen again!
No, I hadn’t tried that. Could you check the threads? Thanks again!

Sorry when I came across those complaints quickly to find assistance. I tried Lenovo and Windows 8, and it felt like a laptop. When power goes out on a PC or laptop, it prevents the memory from clearing or cleaning itself properly. In simple terms, it just stops the device mid-thinking and freezes it. Restarting clears the confusion and resets the system.

Wow, really interesting to read; thank you; I’ll go over this again if I ever need to help someone else’s machine!
I’m new here before. Other threads show a green solved box next to the title. I tried swapping my question box, but the green solved box isn’t selectable for me at least. Will it show up automatically someday, or is this forum sometimes unreliable? It could appear only when a solution is picked?

I'm not confident about your request, as your feedback indicates the solution is already visible.

On my phone, the message reads: “Question (in a maroon bubble) Solved: No video signal to the monitor after power outage.” Another post had: “Solved (in a bright green bubble)” at the beginning. I was aiming to make the Solved appear instead of the Question.
