Whatever your RAM requirements are, purchasing unmatched RAM is a mistake. For the RAM to function correctly at its intended speeds, it must be a single matched package. The motherboard only supports dual channels, so a 2 stick kit is usually the best choice. A 2 x 48gb configuration can provide up to 96gb. For 128gb, you'll need a 4 stick kit consisting of four 32gb modules. I recently upgraded to an i9-14900K and it has proven to be a fast processor. Don't second-guess yourself. I use the default settings on the same motherboard with a DDR4 version. My setup uses a Noctua NH-D15s, and cooling has never been a problem.

Yes, I made some adjustments because it was a bit costly. I selected different components but kept the same RAM. My RAM remains the same, and I only had four identical RAM sticks that weren't different.

Check this website for reduced costs on PC parts. Maintain a resolution of 1440 and it will suffice. The 120mm fan fits inside the back panel of that case, functioning as a rear exhaust fan. The RAM is slim to avoid blocking the dual tower CPU cooler.

Hi, I wanted to build my own PC and picked an i7 13700k as the CPU. On the Intel site it lists its FCLGA1700, but my motherboards only have an LGA1700 socket. Are there any differences? Is the chip set important in this case?

What is the make and model of your motherboard? Just an FYI, you can go over to your motherboard's supported CPU list and see if your processor shows up on said list.

Because you haven't finished inquiring about your new build, this discussion has been merged and reopened.

It's the identical concept (FCLGA equals Flip Chip Land Grid Array, LGA stands for Land Grid Array) it's merely a condensed version.
