Hi there all.
I recently assembled my new rig with these components:
- Motherboard: ASUS B650 E-E
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: ASUS Strix 4090
- PSU: Corsair RM1200i Shift
The RAM I used is available at the provided link.
After posting, the Q-Code displayed '46' before resetting to '15' with the RAM LED flashing orange.
Looking up troubleshooting options, I noticed this RAM isn’t listed on the Asus memory support page.
Does this confirm it won’t work with this motherboard, or is there a solution?
Thank you for your time.

Just because it isn't included in the QVL doesn't always mean it won't work, since there are limits on how much they can test and ensure functionality. The RAM should still function, so here are some troubleshooting steps to follow.

Thank you. It seems the issue was likely related to seating, but it has moved beyond that point now. The system is currently stuck on Q-Code "d6".

The RAM should function properly.
Are you placing them in the second and final RAM slots (from the CPU)?
Keep in mind that RAM installation can be time-consuming, particularly with older or original BIOS versions. Re-seat the RAM in the correct slots, power it on, and allow it to stabilize for at least three minutes.
It might also be helpful to reset the BIOS.
Note - If you're having trouble getting it up, consider using a BIOS flashback to update the BIOS without installing the CPU.

ryzen has specific requirements for ram. Check the corsair selection guide to ensure your purchased kit is compatible with your cpu and motherboard.

It looks like the system is responding well to the RAM. Maybe a seating problem! I'm currently in BIOS and setting up Windows. Thank you for your assistance.

Just as a further inquiry, I bought 2x32GB initially and added another 2x32GB later during assembly. Corsair didn’t have a 4x32GB choice. The BIOS shows 3200 and adjusting DOCP forces it into a Q-Code ‘15’, which resets before returning to BIOS. It looks like the mismatched pair is causing the issue.
How can I best try to get matching speeds and parity? DOCP doesn’t seem available.

What is this 4X32GB requirement for? The issue with DDR5 is that exceeding two RAM modules will force it to revert to a significantly slower speed. You have 6,000MT/s RAM, but with all four installed, you'll be limited to 3,200 while the others remain. Unless you truly require more than 64GB, it would be better to remove a set to achieve the higher speed.

Hand on heart - just looking at it, the two missing sticks on my old PC really frustrated me for a long time.
Could there be any future practical purpose for the four sticks, or should I consider returning them?

Unless you require more than 64GBs of RAM, discard them. Leftover memory is simply wasted and does not improve your computer's performance.
