Diagnosing PC boot issues: assistance required
So: My PC keeps looping after startup. It sometimes stays on longer or shuts down instantly, making it hard to figure out what caused it. I moved everything into a new case, but the fans spin while the power supply cuts off after about five seconds—sometimes longer. The CPU gets too hot, which shouldn’t be the issue. I’ve tried adjusting the RAM placement and resetting the BIOS, but those changes didn’t seem to help. I’m hoping someone can assist me. Motherboard: ASUS Z87m Plus Ultra CPU: i5-4590
Initially, your processor overheating could be a major concern. It might even trigger the bootloop. Some power supplies disable fans under light usage or minimal heat conditions. This behavior could mean a smaller problem rather than a serious fault. My approach would be to simplify things: remove all unnecessary components. This includes the optical drive, SSD, HDD, GPU (if present), and every cable linking the case to the motherboard. Consult your manual—it should be feasible to boot without any tools. Also verify if the CPU cooler fans start rotating after a short time. Make sure all connections to the motherboard are secure, including the 24-pin and 4-8 pin ports.
