Diagnose PC issues, CPU-related problems
Hi everyone, I just finished setting up my PC yesterday and everything seemed normal. I installed Windows, GeForce Experience, and the Gigabyte App Center to get the drivers I needed. After installing the Intel drivers, I encountered a black screen, though the system was still running. The CPU LED on the motherboard lit up red. I attempted to shut down via the power button on the front I/O and restarted by pressing the restart button there, but couldn’t reach my BIOS. I turned off the power supply and am now confused about what might be wrong. I plan to perform a reset later today and double-check all connections. Any suggestions? Do you recall which driver the gigabyte software was attempting to install at the time of the issue? I believe clearing the CMOS could be helpful; I’m curious if restoring BIOS is possible after that. Please let me know if any changes occur.
I powered up the PC upon returning home and everything appeared normal. Later, I encountered issues with OneDrive, so I reinstalled Windows and updated the drivers, which resolved the problem. The only puzzling part is the connection on my motherboard for the sys_fan_pump_6 connector; I attempted to adjust its RPM in the BIOS for my AIO, but it seems to function correctly now.
That's unusual. Typically AIOs feature a 4-pin fan connector that carries the RPM signal wire. Have you tried swapping the header to test control from another source? Running the pump solely on SATA power seems fine unless the noise bothers you; it will operate at full speed, which shouldn't cause additional stress.
