Just bought a new case with a 5.25" external bay. I previously owned a multi-USB/card reader that I planned to fit into my old case but never did. Now the new case’s front USB uses a single USB 3.0 header from my lower-end MSI B350m Pro-VHD board. I need to upgrade the motherboard to include an extra header for that multi-USB hub. I found a compatible option here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X57...v-11-12#kf $225 CDN. It’s a bit more than I was hoping for. It’s tough to locate alternatives from other brands, though some might exist. I’m trying to stay within around $150 CDN. Also, my Ryzen 5 5500 won’t register on this board—MSI’s guidance was unclear, and I considered a BIOS update but it didn’t help. The new board must also support the 5500. Thanks in advance for your help.

These boards come with two USB3.2 Gen 1 ports. Consider purchasing a used one for better value. Options include listings from Amazon Warehouse and Newegg.

Thank you for your assistance. It seems I was expecting the two headers to align horizontally on the PCB, which might have led me to compare with other boards. I only found one at the bottom, so I’ll consider using a used option.
