Device USB Current Monitoring
Device USB Current Monitoring
I've owned an older system around seven years ago with the GPU die replaced a few months back. It was functioning well before that. I upgraded to an RX 6500 XT to revive it and pass it on to my younger brother. When connected, it powers on but displays an error screen stating "USB device over current status detected will shutdown in 15 seconds" before powering off. Initially, I suspected the PSU might be insufficient for the new GPU. After some research, it seemed possible the issue could relate to a faulty port or cable. I disconnected everything and even removed the case ports from the motherboard, but nothing resolved it. Later, I discovered two USB ports on the board don’t respond when tested with my keyboard. My concern is whether the power supply is inadequate for the GPU, or if a deeper repair or replacement of the motherboard might be necessary.
