Device USB Audio Device not operational (Error 10)
Hi,
I've been using the Klipsch R-51pm speakers for some time and connected them via the USB-A to USB-B cable on my desktop PC. Recently, the connection has stopped completely and in Device Manager it shows:
"This device cannot start. (Code 10)
STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR"
I've reset the speakers to factory settings, tested all ports on my PC, used a different cable, and even deleted LowerFilters from regedit with various fixes, but nothing has helped. What's unusual is that the speakers work perfectly when connected to my MacBook Pro using the same cable. I recorded a short video of this issue; please check it out.

You can observe the error on my PC screen, but on the MacBook it plays normally, suggesting a problem with my Windows installation. Sorry about the video quality—I found it difficult to record while doing that.
Feel free to share any system details if needed.
Thanks in advance

I've done the things that I listed in my original post. Here's what I've updated so far. EDIT: I've also updated my bios to the latest available.
and here's the error, still present. Sorry for the late reply.

only those accessible via the management software, not those directly from manufacturer support pages, are relevant.
there’s no mention of USB in the software interface.
that’s what I intended to say.
it seems strange the device appears in Device Manager but doesn’t function properly because of connection issues.
i suspect this relates to USB drivers or control problems.
would you confirm what Control Panel > Sound displays for audio devices?
if they’re listed, what would happen if you set them as the default device?
If you look at:
TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI D4|Motherboards|ASUS Global
ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI D4 is an Intel® Z790 (LGA 1700) ATX Gaming motherboard with 16+1 DrMOS power stages, PCIe® 5.0, DDR4 RAM support, four M.2 slots, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C®, and Aura Sync RGB lighting.
www.asus.com
you can see that there isn't a whole lot else (nothing that catches my eye atleast) I could update, I did check that page before when I updated my BIOS.
Yes, a lot of people are having the same problem on their PC's as well, problems that I saw dating as far back as 2017. The weird thing is that for some people the speakers just straight up do not work on usb, regardless of the OS. For me on the other hand, the speakers work on macOS just fine via usb.
Nothing new, it doesn't even list the speakers unless they are connected thru bluetooth.
I actually just remembered that I had a spare toslink optical cable and I changed to that for now. I wouldn't mind getting them to work via usb but optical will have to do for now.
Unpair the Bluetooth connection
Attempt to update the USB generic audio device in Device Manager (tab driver -> update driver)

Did you select USB source before connecting the speaker via USB to the PC? Try selecting USB on the remote afterward
Disable AUTO-STANDBY (works for the R-51PM too)
https://support.klipsch.com/hc/en-us/art...to-Standby
Check if the USB-B port on the Klipsch is functioning correctly
Just to confirm: Is the USB cable connected to the service USB port rather than the digital IN USB on the Klipsch?
