You can't connect video ports to the motherboard since the Ryzen 5900X lacks an integrated graphics processor. Link your monitors or displays instead. When removing the battery for CMOS reset, ensure the power source is also disconnected from the outlet. This prevents the board from drawing residual power and maintaining the CMOS. EDIT: I noticed you're also using the bottom PCI-E X16 port. Would you prefer to avoid the top PCI-E X16 slot entirely? The bottom port supports PCI-E 3.0 X4 only, as offered by the B550 chipset. The top port is PCI-E 4.0 with direct 16 lanes from the CPU—ideal for RTX 3090 compatibility. This setup might also resolve issues with your RTX 3090 detection.

Thank you for your response. I’ll give it a chance tomorrow. I avoided the top slot because it seemed too limited for airflow, so I only turned off the PSU switch before trying to clear CMOS. Regarding video ports, I use both DisplayPort and HDMI for my monitors, testing them in different slots just in case any responded while I was working on the issue.

Ahh... I understand now. I assumed the cooler was blocking the top PCI-E X16 port, but it's actually on the bottom side of the card. From an airflow perspective, that shouldn't be an issue. The HDMI and DisplayPort on the back won't work because they're connected to the CPU instead. Non-APU Ryzen chips like your Ryzen 5900X don't have an integrated graphics chip, so those connections are empty... effectively. To access the output ports on the motherboard, you'll need a G-series Ryzen processor (for example, Ryzen 3400G).
