Usually, when customers bring back PCs that are restarting, the real problem isn't the power supply unit. The issue lies in Windows XP and later, which by default restarts instead of showing a crash screen. To trigger the BSOD consistently, you need to disable the "automatically restart" option.

Absolutely, you usually get a clear indication of the blue screen before it restarts, though not always. If a BSOD happened repeatedly, someone would likely have noticed it. Even so, there are still similarities, which might offer a fresh perspective on why certain PCs restart unexpectedly. It could also suggest multiple hardware issues rather than just one.

I'm just sharing what I've found so far. My 30 series and Seasonic PSU are working fine. EVGA suggests a minimum of 750, but I've got a lot of load on my system. I bought the 750 back in November when higher models were hard to find. I'm leaning more toward a memory problem rather than power issues. *Shakes fist at Assrock* I also have an Assrock, but it's still performing well. There seems to be some weird behavior, but it doesn't seem related to power output.

Isn't that pretty much only the Prime line up having issues with transient spikes?

More than just PRIME PSUs seem impacted. The real concern isn’t just the brief spikes; it’s not every Seasonic PSU affected. I’m unsure which models are involved, but it’s likely. The author should examine bluescreenview/crash dumps—if it’s a memory problem, they can provide further details. My idea is that there might be a board or RAM issue first, and a PSU could be the next layer. If nothing odd beyond the RAM issue occurs, especially when low RAM profiles cause games to fail to restart, the evidence points clearly. I recommended this because swapping out a GPU or PSU is simpler than replacing a board. If someone has extra PCs, they can test it to confirm.

I've noticed many different reports lately. When restarts occur, checking the event viewer shows varying PC reports each time. Frequently, critical errors or warnings appear. Here are some examples: a fatal hardware error was logged, indicating a Processor Core issue with a Bus/Interconnect problem. The APIC ID is 6, and further details are available in the system view. The machine restarted unexpectedly at 11:29:30 on 08/09/2021. I suspect there may have been other similar events before, but I'm not sure what exactly happened. These messages in the event viewer suggest something significant to experienced users. I have a general sense of what might be going on, but I'd appreciate guidance from more knowledgeable members of this forum instead of trying to fix it alone.
