Device shuts down automatically when idle and I don’t understand the reason.
Hello everyone, I hope everything is fine. Over the past few days my computer has stopped working unexpectedly when I haven’t used it for more than an hour or at night. None of my settings are responsible—I’ve disabled Windows updates and sleep mode, among other things. I’m not sure why this is happening; since I live in a colder area, I assume nothing is overheating. If anyone has any suggestions on where to look or check, please share. I’ve checked the Event Viewer but don’t understand what I’m seeing. None of my programs seem to be causing the computer to shut down randomly. Last time it booted into BIOS and I’m confused about why that happened. Any general advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, I ran a memtest on my RAM recently and found no errors.
The reliability history indicates an unexpected shutdown occurred. It appears Windows is simply closing, yet labeling it as such raises concerns.
That sounds like a hardware-related issue. Start by executing sfc/scannow in an elevated command prompt, then reboot the system, followed by stress testing.
Thanks for your assistance earlier! I had no idea history software actually exists.
