Device remains inactive during rest period (Asus PG32UCDM)
As the title says, one of my monitors does not wake up from sleep. Here's how the problem manifests: - Set the "Turn off the display" to whatever value. Computer sleep is disabled. - Walk away from computer - Monitors go to sleep - Touch keyboard/mouse - Secondary monitor wakes up. Main monitor displays "No signal". - Turn main monitor off/on and everything goes back to normal. The weirdest main is that the main monitor has a USB hub where I keep my mouse/keyboard plugged in. The peripherals work even though the monitor does not get any video signal. Relevant part list: Win 11 Pro 24H2 / AMD 9800x3d / Asus Strix X870E-E / Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming / Main monitor: Asus PG32UCDM plugged in via HDMI / Secondary monitor: some cheap 1080p AOC plugged in via DP I should also mention that I did not have this problem on my old AM4 platform. It started manifesting after I upgraded to the 9800x3d with a fresh Win11 install. Same GPU. What I tried until now: - Changed HDMI cable and monitor HDMI port - Uninstalled Nvidia driver with DDU. Reinstalled Nvidia driver. - Changed GPU (borrowed a 3070 from a friend) - Disabled monitor auto input switching None of them worked.
I've already noted the issue continues with another GPU. It's unusual since I didn't see it on my previous AM4 setup, even with the same GPU and monitor settings. I'll test swapping the cables. Luckily, both monitors support HDMI and DP.
It's strange that the behavior shifted after the platform upgrade—definitely worth looking into a BIOS update. However, since a Windows reinstall is also in progress, it's unclear if the change was due to the platform update or the reinstall. Have you tried disconnecting it from power and switching it off/on? Remember, standby differs from being completely off, and a short pause might help. You could also test with another operating system by using a bootable Linux USB to see if the issue persists.
