I've owned my PC for several years now (perhaps three quarters). Since late December 2023, when I powered it down at night, it hasn't switched on right away in the morning. The motherboard LEDs stayed lit, and the NZXT fan controller light was also active, indicating power was present but not functioning. Pressing the power button gave no result, and touching the power switch pins produced the same outcome. Initially assuming a PSU problem, I replaced it with a new one. The issue continued. I updated my BIOS in case that was the culprit. Still, the problem remained. I adjusted my ErP setting to S4 + S5 hoping it would help. It didn’t resolve the matter. After trying three fixes—reseating connectors, breadboarding, and reassembling—I still faced the same issue. Even after powering on briefly, the system would either start normally or fail to boot at all. I suspected a recent cold snap might have caused a short circuit or poor connection, requiring time for components to heat up. Placing a heater near the unit helped it restart after about 30–40 minutes. Once operational, the displayed time in Windows consistently showed around 8:00–9:00 AM, which seemed reasonable given the chilly conditions. As a workaround, I set the system to sleep overnight so it wouldn’t power on fully in the morning, though it would shut down automatically. I’m seeking further advice—maybe the heater isn’t the real fix and is just a temporary fix. Thanks ahead!

The battery in the motherboard is probably no longer functioning. It's time to swap it out.

Ryzen 5 3600 RTX 3050 ASUS ROG B450-F with 2x8GB RAM and 3200Mhz, Corsair Vengance SSD, M.2 NVMe and SATA options, plus two HDDs. Using a Thermaltake Smart RGB 500W power supply. Updated PSU is Corsair RM650—though I should have noted that earlier. Hope the swap worked, but thanks for the help!

Perform an immediate system reset to reinstall Windows, ensuring the balanced power plan is chosen. Replace your RAM and verify every cable is firmly attached.

I’ll replace it right away, but I’m already on the balanced power plan. I’ve repositioned my RAM and cables on both the PSU and components, yet the problem continues.

Update from the following day: the on-site replacement attempt was unsuccessful. The PC didn’t power on right away; the clock in Windows displays 09:33.
