The specific LEDs that turn off during a reset depend on whether all ports or just certain ones are affected. Changing the router model—whether switching brands or staying the same—can influence this behavior. The reset might indicate a problem with the cable, port, or even the switch itself. If only Ethernet connections are impacted, the issue could relate to your PC’s LAN port and the switch reacting to save power. Consider moving the switch between the router and your PC to test.

Initially, my older TP-Link router (https://www.tp-link.com/lb/home-networki...d-w8961nd/) has been working fine for three years with the same ISP. Recently, both the ADSL and broadband LEDs stopped working while power, Wi-Fi, and LAN remained active. Connection drops occurred across all devices when using LAN or Wi-Fi.

It seems to involve either the wall-mounted DSL line to your router or your internet service provider. I recommend reaching out to your ISP and informing them to dispatch a technician for an external connection check.
