We value you as a customer and your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us. My name is Andrei and it would be my pleasure to assist you in any way possible. Firstly, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Regarding your situation, my suggestion would be to follow the steps in the guide below: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1046480/ Initially we treat all cases ‘as if’ they are covered under warranty, as you can imagine it’s impossible to determine the condition of the unit until it is inspected thoroughly by our repair center. So if upon receipt of the unit (and after inspection) the unit is deemed to be in warranty - it will of course be repaired free of charge (as stipulated in the ASUS Warranty Terms and conditions). However, if upon inspection the unit is deemed either Out of warranty/Customer induced damage, the repair will become chargeable – and our repair center will then issue a quotation for repair labor, handling, replacement parts and return logistics. The repair center will issue a quote stating the exact amount needed for the repair, which you can either refuse and have your item delivered back to you unrepaired, or, accept and pay the full amount of the quote and have the device repaired with them. There would be a 45-pound fee for shipping, handling and inspection. Please have in mind, that the fee will apply regardless of you accepting or declining the repair offer. The device can be sent to us by filling the RMA form here: https://eu-rma.asus.com/uk Once your application has been submitted, it will be placed in a queue for further review. As soon as it is processed, you will receive an email confirmation containing the RMA number. Our system will then automatically arrange a collection with our courier (DPD). The following day you will receive an email and/or text message from DPD, confirming when your item is going to be collected. Collections usually happen within 1-3 working days depending on geographic location. Once the item is collected, the courier will deliver it to a designated ASUS service center and the repair process will start. In the rare event where you need to change your collection/return date or address, this can be done via the email you receive from the DPD or contact us once again. HI guys i am having a great day!!! My ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402RK keeps black screening when I am running an intensive application like a game or AI model. I bought the laptop less than a year ago so it should still be in warranty I have had experienced this issue on both Windows and Linux and am currently running Fedora. I think it is some sort of everheating issue (see logs) --- Oct 28 17:55:25 fedora kernel: thermal_sys: Registered thermal governor 'fair_share' Oct 28 17:55:25 fedora kernel: thermal_sys: Registered thermal governor 'bang_bang' Oct 28 17:55:25 fedora kernel: thermal_sys: Registered thermal governor 'step_wise' Oct 28 17:55:25 fedora kernel: thermal_sys: Registered thermal governor 'user_space' Oct 28 17:55:25 fedora kernel: thermal LNXTHERM:00: registered as thermal_zone0 Oct 28 17:55:25 fedora kernel: ACPI: thermal: Thermal Zone [THRM] (96 C) Oct 28 17:55:25 fedora kernel: thermal LNXTHERM:01: registered as thermal_zone1 Oct 28 17:55:25 fedora kernel: ACPI: thermal: Thermal Zone [TZ01] (20 C) Oct 28 17:55:34 fedora kernel: asus-nb-wmi asus-nb-wmi: Using throttle_thermal_policy for platform_profile support Oct 28 17:55:35 fedora systemd[1]: Starting thermald.service - Thermal Daemon Service... Reviewing the temperatures would be a solid starting point. Ensuring the CPU fan is actually running is also important. If you take out the custom software, the system should stop working properly, which would help identify any issues with hardware monitoring. Removing the Windows driver could reveal problems with cooling functionality.
The device rotates and produces a humming sound as it starts to operate.
The fans reach about 4000 RPM once the fan is turned on for a while, with the GPU around 86°C and CPU at 70°C. I’m not sure how to verify cooling performance, but I’d assume they shouldn’t be hotter than this.
