Hi everyone! I opened my Windows 10 network settings to check connected devices and noticed a device called "Mustang" showing up. It seems like an Amazon product, but I wasn’t expecting any Amazon gadgets on the network. The device appears briefly—about a minute—and disappears after I refresh the page. I’m having trouble blocking MAC addresses since my ISP blocks customers from accessing their router, and they’re not available on weekends either. I don’t want to go into technical details about that. If anyone has any advice or help, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Adjust similar configurations but with differences. Turn off WPS, update your Wi-Fi password, and switch the "Windows Connect Now" service to manual startup only. If you claim you can't log in, explain how to modify the router settings—likely they provided only basic info. You might request full access to configure your network. If they deny it, consider purchasing a separate router and using the ISP's modem as just a modem for better control.

I can't modify any settings on my end, especially the Wi-Fi password. They only let me pick the network name and stick the password at the top of the router. I plan to call them tomorrow and ask for access. If they refuse, I’ll use my own equipment instead. Switching ISPs would be an option if possible, but there’s really no choice for me. Thanks for your response and the useful link.

They likely did it for a few reasons. A) their equipment (unless you bought it directly from them). B) it stops unauthorized access and removes the chance of anyone downloading content without permission... But on the flip side, the service is really poor and they should let users reset passwords easily. Which ISP are we talking about?

Franklin Telephone Company is a local ISP. The staff there are friendly, though I dislike the overall approach of the business.

It seems you can likely modify the Wi-Fi password, but for full control and features like WPS, there may be limitations.
