Hello everyone. I was attempting to switch the HDD in my granddad's old computer to an SSD to extend its lifespan. It functioned properly before, but once I connected the SSD it wouldn't start. The system ran without RAM and displayed a 5-beep code. According to the guide at computerhope.com, that indicates either a Process Failure for an AMI BIOS or a CMOS failure. Since I haven’t changed the BIOS yet, I’m unsure which one it is. Replacing the CMOS battery didn’t help, so I suspect a Process Failure. Could there be anything I can try? Also, did I cause any damage to the computer? I edited this on August 17, 2020 by FatMax1492.
