Hello everyone! I'm reaching out in hopes of finding assistance with a problem I'm facing. I recently assembled my new PC over the weekend, and everything is functioning well—except for my GPU, which isn't showing up at all. It's been a while since I built a system, so I'm assuming this might be an oversight. Here are the details:

- Motherboard: MSI MPG z690 Carbon WiFi
- CPU: Intel i9 12900K
- GPU: MSI Suprim X 3090 Ti
- Power Supply: EVGA G6 1000W
- OS: Windows 10 Pro
- RAM: 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5

Issue: My PC isn't detecting the GPU. Device Manager only shows the Intel Integrated Graphics with lights on, no fan activity, and no detection. I've tried everything—updated MSI BIOS to the latest version (7D30v18), plugged in the old RX 480, ensured BIOS prioritizes PEG over Integrated Graphics, ran all Windows updates, even tested with a friend's MSI RTX 3070—but nothing works.

I'm hoping someone can help me resolve this. Thanks in advance for your time and advice!

I didn't see confirmation that the PSU cables were inspected. Have you verified all PSU cables are securely attached? The GPU wasn't recognized because one PCIe power cable wasn't fully seated in the PSU.

defective maybe? but if that was the case no other gpu would have worked. so it might be an nvidia problem with updating MoBo to support the 3090? honestly dont know but just throwing ideas here maybe one of them might be the problem. hope you kept the receipts just in case though. maybe psu is defective but wouldnt have turned on or could have presented another problem during boot. hmm.

I attempted to re-arrange them again yesterday, assuming that might fix the problem. However, nothing changed. In full honesty, the cable organization would likely improve, but it seems none of the components are in a problematic setup.

The 3090ti appears to be confirmed by the MSI website, which gives me confidence it’s accurate. I’m certain I saved the receipts just in case. Since this wasn’t an inexpensive project, I double-checking them was a smart move.

The board uses a PCIe Gen version. Some devices with non-Gen 4 PCIe risers fail to detect the GPU, requiring a BIOS change to Gen 3. This suggests the PCIe configuration in your BIOS might be incorrect. You could try switching it to Gen 4 if that resolves the issue.

Your BIOS is correctly configured as Auto, but you're having trouble detecting the GPU even after switching to Gen 4. Let me know if you need further help!
