Hello, I recently purchased a brand new PC that I assembled myself this evening. It came completely new and ready to use. Here’s the setup: Ryzen 7 7800X3D Dark Rock Pro 4 MSI B650 Gaming Plus with Wi-Fi RTX 4080, 2*16 GB RAM at 6000 MHz CL30, 980 PRO, 2 TB Lian Li Lancool 216, Thermaltake GF3 80+ Gold, 850W ATX. When I connected everything and booted up, I saw a white light and a green light respectively, indicating no GPU detected and no bootable device found. For the green light, turning on my Windows key resolved the issue, but the GPU still didn’t show up. Connecting my monitor to the integrated graphics worked perfectly. Using my old GTX 1080 also functioned fine. When I power it on, the fans twitch briefly but don’t spin rapidly. There’s no visible life signal except that early twitch. I’m unsure what to do next—could the GPU be faulty or is the PSU the problem? Also, does anyone have any suggestions or troubleshooting steps I could try? Thank you very much.

How long did you have to wait before the system started up? The latest models often need considerable time to complete memory setup during initial launches.

I suggest spending at least two or three minutes. I've also attempted to reinstall it in the PCIe slot several times, and I've repeatedly connected and disconnected the 12VHPWR cable—especially challenging to do so.

It may require several minutes—perhaps waiting a minimum of 15 minutes—before the initial memory session finishes.

Wouldn't the crowd be excited if this happened?

It varies by motherboard maker. Some include spinning fans, others don’t. AM5 is a fresh design and many settings aren’t fully standardized yet. Still, it might cause problems, though memory configuration training is something few buyers anticipate.

It turned out the 12VHPWR connection wasn’t secured correctly. I was worried about damaging the card, but after insisting and making sure there was no space at all, the graphics card started working again!
