Device not detected on Windows 10 version 1709 update
Hey everyone, I own a TP-Link Archer T6E Dual Band PCI-e Wireless adapter. After the update, my computer no longer sees the card. I've done everything from removing and reinstalling drivers to checking the connection in different PCI slots, downloading the latest driver and utilities, but the issue persists. The Device Manager shows a warning icon next to it: In the TP-Link Utility, Windows says the device driver isn't working, yet the troubleshooter claims no issues. Thanks for your assistance!
The guidance doesn't work with the drivers provided from TP-Link for the T6E because there isn't a .inf file available on their site. Only .exe files can be downloaded. I tried getting just the driver and also the driver plus utility. I went back to the newest Windows 10 version, which fixed the WiFi card problem but also caused several games to stop working. Even after removing and reinstalling them, it didn’t help. So I upgraded to version 1709 and everything functions again except for the wireless card... *sigh*
I have an unconventional idea. You probably won't like it. Have you considered restoring Windows? I'm certain that with the recent large updates from Microsoft, performance can become unstable. That's why I wait as long as possible before installing them, hoping they'll force the update onto my system. I'm ready to reinstall Windows whenever a significant update is released.
