Device manager doesn't list the internal wireless card.
I've just put in a used internal wireless card into a system I built with only partially used components. I'm trying to figure out if the card is malfunctioning or if the PCI-E port is faulty. Since the card isn't showing up in Device Manager, I'm curious whether it would appear there without any drivers installed. (To be honest, I didn't verify the model before installation, so I might need to take it apart again to look up the model and search for drivers manually...) I ran a driver booster that listed as fully updated with the card installed. If the card is dead, I'm also wondering if my mistake—twisting the wires connecting the antenna to the board while trying to install or remove it—could have caused the issue. Are these wires that delicate?
Did you verify the BIOS settings to confirm the card is active? Yes, the connectors are quite delicate and may vary by maker, but this won’t stop the card from appearing in Device Manager—just result in weak or missing signals.
Let me see what you need. Do you have a specific configuration in mind? I can suggest options based on your requirements.
I thoroughly reviewed the bios to confirm all choices were accurate, and it worked. Thanks!
