Hey, I need a budget-friendly router that can connect to your PIA device and also serve as an access point. It should work without needing a VPN setup next to your ISP equipment. You don’t mind speed much, just want it to handle around 50Mbps on your UK Virgin line. Any recommendations would be great!

Several routers support OpenWRT, DD-WRT, or similar custom firmware, offering built-in VPN features that let you route all connections through the device to a suitable VPN. Ensure the VPN you choose is compatible with this setup. Pick the router that aligns best with your requirements from the compatibility list provided: https://advancedtomato.com/downloads

Installed TP Link TL-MR3020 with DD-WRT, but no open VPN available and PPTP isn't functioning.

I have an Asus RT-AC68U and configured Surfshark on it. The router is compatible with OpenVPN and PPTP.
