Hi there. I have an ADSL connection and my router seems to be malfunctioning, so I’m considering replacing it. I also want the option to switch to fiber if it becomes available. I’m not very experienced with these devices, so I’m looking for guidance on which one to choose. I’m thinking about two models: the ASUS DSL-AC55U AC1200 and the ASUS DSL-AC68U Dual-Band Wireless AC1900 Gigabit ADSL/VDSL Modem Router. I’m curious about the differences between them, especially regarding fiber support. Do I need a separate router or modem to connect the ASUS DSL-AC55U to fiber? Can the ASUS DSL-AC68U connect directly to fiber?

Do you own a separate modem? I can get one, then when you install fiber, simply switch the modem and ISP. Avoid getting a combined unit.

Your TD-W8901G is not working properly. I’m trying to help, but I’m not sure what’s going on.

I’ll install a separate modem and router, using an DSL modem and a standard router.
