Typically boards work better with older systems and need fewer drivers in later Windows releases. Still, some boards might not support newer versions, though that’s uncommon. My board is from 2013, designed for XP and Win7, and I’m confident it will run smoothly on Windows 8.1—though the Vista installer keeps failing every time.
Just because it works with an operating system doesn't guarantee compatibility. These are separate issues. Being functional doesn't equal being compatible. By the way, if you rely on Windows Update drivers, these generic drivers won't provide complete functionality. Also, can you tell me what processor you have? And where exactly are you getting stuck in the process?
Did you attempt to set up Windows 10 on the device in question? No... As mentioned earlier, Vista functions perfectly, I can create a Vista ISO and boot from it directly. It’s unlikely Windows 10 would work there, but I’ll give it a shot. Nice budget build, by the way!
Windows is starting up immediately, Universal USB Installer succeeded. It's strange Rufus failed while Universal USB Installer worked. Thanks for your support!
