Hello, I own an old machine that seems to have stopped working. When trying to power it up, there was no sound. It was unusual, but odd occurrences are common, so I just waited. After a short while, it powered off again without any noise. Later, it began cycling on and off every few seconds. A BIOS reset helped before, but now it’s not working. Right now, I can’t even change the BIOS settings (image attached). I’ve tried everything: switching on/off components, removing peripherals, reinserting RAM, CPU, booting with one stick—but nothing works. If anyone has suggestions, I’d really appreciate it.

Specs: Intel i7-4770 Gigabyte GA-H87-HD3 WD Green 480GB SSD 2x HpyerX Fury 8GB 1600MHz(HX316C10FK2/16) BeQuiet STRAIGHT POWER 580W(BQT E9-CM-580W)

Consider disconnecting the device from power for a few days—perhaps overnight—to observe any changes. It’s a risky approach, but worth a try if other methods fail. It seems the motherboard may have given up on resetting. If you can’t access the BIOS, there should be a button or jumper on the board to reset it; using that would be ideal, especially if you haven’t already attempted it.

Did you remove the CMOS battery and attempt to boot? Are you able to access Q-Flash by using <end> instead of <del>?

I attempted that, but the main issue is that only the attached picture appears, I can't even reset the BIOS or access q-flash. The PC fails to boot beyond three seconds, then powers down completely. I also tried removing the CMOS battery, but it didn’t help.

I attempted to reset the BIOS via the jumpers, but the attached image is the only visible option. It seems there are no available buttons or load options with optimized settings. I’ll leave it unplugged for a few days since I’m away.

It seems a bit frustrating, but it might actually work. You could use a worn-out, inexpensive motherboard to rebuild a functional computer.
