My setup details: R5 3400g HyperX Fury RGB 2x8 3200mhz MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. I just bought the components to assemble my first PC. Once everything is put together, I plan to install the operating system. The Windows 10 logo appears briefly. The motherboard lights up the CPU debug LED. I took out one stick of RAM and was surprised to find it now works normally. When I reinserted the RAM, the same issue occurred—Windows Q0 logo appeared for a moment, then the CPU debug LED lit and the monitor went dark. I tried reseating the CPU and cooler (no bent pins), checked each RAM one by one, but only single-channel functionality. Removed the CMOS yet nothing changed. I’ve searched every forum but no solution was found.

Did you verify the RAM compatibility with your board? Also, was this problem previously resolved in a BIOS update?

The configuration uses slots A1, B1, A2, B2. You should place RAM in either slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. Usually I choose 2 and 4 by default. Edit: it's possible you did this, I couldn't tell from the image.

I organized the project based on requirements and system fit. Tomahawk max handles up to 128GB and operates at 4100MHz.

What is your RAM speed setting? It might not support 3200MHz in dual channel if you're trying to run it at that frequency. Consider using dual channel at 2133 to rule out a frequency problem. Check each RAM slot with a single stick or RAM to identify any dead slots on your board. You could be inserting the second stick into a dead slot. Also, test both sticks individually to confirm there isn't a dead stick or RAM either.

The maximum RAM speed is mainly influenced by the CPU's memory controller. The 3400G uses a Zen+ design that typically offers only around 3000 to 3200 MHz, though some models like the 2700X could reach up to 3000 MHz.

No modifications were made regarding OC. Everything remains set to the standard defaults.

You confirmed the update didn't resolve the problem. Verify the make and model compatibility, not speed or capacity.

Default settings often use XMP profiles, such as 3200 MHz, but these may not work with a 3400 GHz device.

Thanks for the update. I took it to the store and the technician replaced the RAM with a different brand, and it works perfectly now. It seems there might be an issue with HyperX and MSI boards conflicting, though this isn't widely documented online. They also tried booting from another SSD, re-seating the CPU and RAM, but the system still won't start. They used another RAM model from TeamGroup T Force Delta 2x8 at 3200mhz, which worked fine.
