Device fails to automatically install system updates.
I purchased an AMD prebuilt with Gigabyte A520M-K motherboard. During the previous Windows 10 installation, drivers loaded automatically, including Ethernet, even before completing setup. Recently, after attempting Windows 11 installation (which failed), I reinstalled Windows 10 again. However, my activation disappeared, and no drivers appeared automatically. I had to manually download Ethernet from their site on another machine. Although it now works perfectly, I’m worried I made a mistake, especially since I lost the activation after trying to install Windows 11.
When you reinstalled Windows 10 via the built-in "restore to factory settings," the pre-set software might have contained the drivers. Switching from Windows 11 back to Windows 10 using your own install media from Microsoft’s site would not include the driver files.
Gigabyte once included a script in the BIOS to automatically install drivers, but it contained security flaws and is no longer part of current BIOS updates.
